Overview
Overview of our courses aimed at school pupils.
At the Centres we teach a wide variety courses for key stages 1, 2 and 4.
At Key stage 1 and 2 we offer courses for teachers that cover all aspect of ICT capability for KS1 and 2, whether directly linked to the QCA Schemes of Work, or integrated into a more thematic approach.
We also offer courses that are more generic in their content, so that teachers and support staff can learn new skills and software and embed these into the curriculum where they deem appropriate.
In most cases pupils are taught by CLC staff with QTS and experience of teaching in primary schools.
At Key Stage 4 we concentrate on 14-19 Lines of Learning, and Key stage 4 intervention. Current courses we offer are:
- NCFE Animation,
- Interactive Digital Media,
- OCR Nationals ICT,
- Support for IT Diploma
- ECDL,
- BTEC Media
and other Digital Media courses.
All of the courses are taught at the centre, and schools generally arrange their own transport. However, we do provide free refreshments for Primary courses, and can arrange catering for secondary courses at a reasonable cost.
