Animation Workshops

Do you have a budding Nick Park in your class?

Creating animations is fun and relevant to the curriculum. The CLC has a range of software and hardware available to create animations using drawn sets, models or on screen characters.

Some of this software (Pivot and Stykz) is freely available on the www, so follow up work in school and at home is a realistic possibility.

Other software available for this activity is either I Can Animate and Revelation Sight and Sound.

This activity can be tailored to a half or full day session.

Schools might want to consider getting the pupils to create their sets/backgrounds and storyboards in school, prior to the visit, and bring these to the CLC to use so that time spent at the CLC is more effectively used in creating the animations, rather than in the planning stage.

A pre-visit to the school by a member of the CLC  staff to demonstrate the software can also be arranged.
